§ 10-6. Certificate of purchase.

  • (a)

    Any person paying the appraised value of any lot in the village cemetery to the village clerk shall be entitled to a certificate of purchase signed by the president and attested by the village clerk, under the corporate seal of the village, which shall vest the ownership of said lot in the purchaser, subject to the rules, regulations and government of the board of trustees.

    (b)

    It shall be the duty of the village clerk to keep a cemetery record in which he shall record all certificates of purchase of lots, which certificates shall be in a form prescribed by the board of trustees.

    (c)

    The certificate of purchase shall be recorded and countersigned by the village clerk, within 30 days from its date, and on the failure of the purchaser to have it so recorded and countersigned, such certificate or instrument shall become void.
