Latest version.
  • In subdivisions having lots with less than 20,000 square feet in area, sidewalks may be required to be constructed one foot from the property line of the lots and at intersections along such line as extended. The village board may require sidewalks in subdivisions near or containing schools, or along thoroughfares where heavier traffic volumes would present safety problems for pedestrians.

The minimum width of sidewalks for single-family development shall be four feet. The minimum thickness shall be four inches along the frontage of lots and said thickness shall be increased to six inches at driveways.
