§ 26-7. Removal of snow, etc.

  • The owner or occupant of any premises in the village shall keep the sidewalk in front of, abutting or along the same reasonably free from all snow and other obstructions or impediments, and whenever such impediment, obstruction or snow, as the case may be, is not removed by such owner or occupant as aforesaid, the village superintendent may cause a written notice to be served or delivered upon or to such owner or occupant calling his attention to the provisions of this section. If any such owner or occupant shall refuse, fail or neglect to comply with the provisions of this section within 24 hours after service or delivery of such notice, the village superintendent may have the same removed at the cost of the owner or occupant of such premises, and such cost shall be recovered or collected as other fines for the violation of ordinances are recovered or collected.
